FORT MYERS, Fla. (Oct. 17, 2022) – Sanibel Captiva Community Bank has announced it will donate $100,000 to local nonprofit organizations to support local Hurricane Ian relief efforts.

“As a community bank, we believe it is our responsibility to help our community, especially in the wake of such a devastating and tragic event like Hurricane Ian,” said Sanibel Captiva Community Bank President Kyle DeCicco. “Our goal for these funds is to support those who need it most so Southwest Florida can recover and rebuild.”

The bank’s donation will be distributed amongst 13 Southwest Florida nonprofit organizations and charitable causes that are serving the ongoing needs of local residents in the Sanibel, Fort Myers Beach, Pine Island, Cape Coral and Fort Myers areas who have been affected by Hurricane Ian. The recipient organizations are:

  • The Heights Foundation

  • Valerie’s House
  • Blessings in a Backpack, Southwest Florida Chapter
  • Foundation for Lee County Public Schools
  • Bruno’s of Brooklyn First Responder Meals

Sanibel Captiva Community Bank has reopened five of its Fort Myers locations with full banking services and regular hours of operation. On Sanibel, the Main Office sustained minimal storm damage and work is already underway to reopen the branch. Meanwhile, limited cash services and safe deposit box access are available periodically in the parking lot of the Main Office. The Periwinkle Branch on Sanibel and McGregor Branch in Fort Myers both sustained considerable storm damage and are temporarily closed for repairs.
