Schedule of Events and Public Information

Cape Coral, FL (December 1, 2022) – The Chamber of Commerce of Cape Coral will host the Gunterberg Charitable Foundation Holiday Festival of Lights on Saturday, December 3rd. The festivities will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. along Cape Coral Parkway from Del Prado Blvd to Candia Street. The opening ceremony will begin at 5:45 pm and Santa will be arriving for the official LCEC tree lighting at 6:15 p.m.

“As an organization, we are fortunate to have our incredible sponsors and volunteers to aid our staff each year in putting this event together for the residents of Cape Coral,” said Donna Germain, Chamber President and CEO. “We could not do a fraction of what we do without them.”

The Gunterberg Charitable Foundation – Culliton Family Holiday Festival of Lights is a Cape Coral tradition that is all about family and community. More than 40 years ago, the business owners in Downtown Cape Coral or South Cape, as it is now known, started the annual Tree Lighting and block party. Over the years, this event has grown into one of the largest single day events in SWFL with more than 25,000 in attendance.

The Chamber would like to wish you all a happy and safe Holiday Season. If you are heading to the Gunterberg Charitable Foundation Holiday Festival of Lights on December 3rd, here is some information you will need to know.

Cape Coral Parkway will close at 5:00 a.m. on December 3rd
To ensure the safety of our community and volunteers, Cape Coral Parkway from Del Prado Blvd to Coronado Parkway will be closing at 5:00 a.m. on December 3rd. Please plan your day accordingly and arrange for alternate routes during your travels. The Cape Coral Parkway will reopen at 2 am on December 4th.

Santa’s Arrival and Tree Lighting – Sponsored by Lee County Electric Cooperative
Santa and Mrs. Claus will be arriving at the Cape Coral Town Center (Big John’s) at 6:15 p.m. to officially kick off Cape Coral’s holiday season with the lighting of the Christmas Tree. Pictures with Santa will follow immediately after the lighting until 9:45 p.m.

15 Ton Snow Slide – Sponsored by The Brotherhood of Heroes Resource Center and Museum
Who says there is no snow in Florida? Not us! Next to Santa, the 15-Ton Snow Slide is one of the biggest attractions at the Gunterberg Charitable Foundation Holiday Festival of Lights. Kids have a blast throughout the evening sliding down the slope located adjacent to the Winn-Dixie parking lot on Cape Coral Parkway.

Holiday Food Drive to Benefit The Cape Coral Caring Center
Bring your food or monetary donation to Snow Slide on December 3rd to help families in need during this holiday season.

Tiny Tots Train Ride – Sponsored by Kiwanis Club of Cape Coral
Kiwanis Club of Cape Coral will be sponsoring the FREE Tiny Tot’s Train Ride on Vincennes Boulevard.

Candy Cane Park – Free Kids Area – Sponsored by Cape Christian Fellowship
Cape Christian Fellowship returns as the sponsor of the Candy Cane Park FREE Kids Area with inflatables located at on the east end of the event adjacent to Wendy’s.

The Gunterberg Charitable Foundation Holiday Festival of Lights will feature three performance stages with local entertainers and dance troupes performing throughout the night.

Event Parking
Parking for the Gunterberg Charitable Foundation Holiday Festival of Lights is on a first come first serve basis in the public parking lots. Please be cautious of tow away zones in the downtown area.
